apply your U.P.C. bar code until you have completed Step 1.
How do I turn the GTIN that I've assigned into
my bar code?
Now that you're a little more familiar with how to build your GTIN,
you are ready to have your bar codes printed and applied to your
product. Here is some information that you'll need to know in order
to successfully complete this task.
How do I actually get a U.P.C. bar code printed?
You have three different approaches to getting your bar code printed:
- Contact a printing company who prints U.P.C. bar code labels,
which can then be applied to your product.
- Have a U.P.C. bar code printed directly on the package of your
product.
- Print U.P.C. bar code labels yourself using off-the-shelf
software.
Important Note: There
are specific guidelines for producing quality U.P.C. bar codes so
they can be properly read by scanners at the Point-of-Sale. The
GS1 US provides this list of Bar
Code Printers that are familiar with these guidelines. Please
note that the GS1 US does not print bar codes.
