Data Driver™
for the Supply Chain

Data Driver is the GS1 US's easy-to-use software tool for creating globally unique identification numbers and defining U.P.C. bar codes. You can also use Data Driver to manage products you already have on the market with U.P.C.'s and create Global Location Numbers (GLNs) to identify your company in electronic commerce transactions. Data Driver takes the work out of initiating collaborative commerce with your trading partners. Available exclusively to Partner Connections members.

Create bar code specifications quickly and easily.
Data Driver creates and manages identification numbers and defines associated bar codes for your products. (The identification number is called a Global Trade Item Number® (GTIN ® ) and is most commonly carried in a U.P.C. bar code.)

Using the Data Driver, you can:

  • Create new GTINs or load existing GTINs for

    -

    retail consumer units, innerpacks, cases, and pallets

    -

    variable measure items [such as items sold by varying weight (wheels of cheese) or length (spools of cable)]

  • Specify UPC-E bar codes (only supported by certain GS1 Company Prefixes)
  • Support multiple GS1 Company Prefixes
  • Clone existing product data for easy entry of a new product
  • Print a New Product Worksheet to quickly collect the information you need to enter into Data Driver
  • Generate a Product Summary Sheet containing all entered information about a product to share with trading partners
  • Create a Product Identification Detail Sheet with the correct information needed for bar code scannability and everything your label vendor needs to create bar codes
  • Link to an online directory of label vendors that can print your bar code labels

Create Global Location Numbers (GLNs) quickly and easily.
Data Driver creates and manages GLNs for your company/organization. A GLN identifies legal entities, functional entities, and physical locations. GLNs are communicated to your trading partners to identify your company/organization in electronic commerce transactions. The Legal Entity GLN licensed to your company by the UCC is already loaded in Data Driver .
