GS1 US Regional Seminars

Who Should Attend? Manufacturers, Retailers, and Distributors who are just getting started and have either selected a Data Pool or have not yet decided how they will implement data synchronization.

What is Supply Chain U? Supply Chain U brings a traveling "university" to a location near you. GS1 US™ has designed these seminars with specific tracks that put "real world" information into your hands, quickly and efficiently. You'll get an overview of the essentials of today's supply chain requirements for successful collaborative commerce, as only GS1 US can provide. This seminar offers invaluable information on the topics of your choice, including Bar Coding, 1SYNC™ Data Pool, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), and RosettaNet.

GS #1A: Morning General Session
Start the day in the general session to learn about the benefits of common data standards and how using Global Location Numbers (GLNs) and Global Trade Item Numbers® (GTINs®) can add efficiency to your supply chain. Then, choose from dedicated sessions in the afternoon covering topics such as how to get started with reducing costs and increasing business, and where to go for help as you embark on your implementation of collaborative commerce.

GS #1B: NEW Special Morning General Session – Measuring Packages for Data Synchronization
This special session is intended for those already synchronizing data or beginning to prepare for data synchronization. The session is offered concurrently with the morning general session from 8:00am to 11:00am.

Proper measurement is a vital component of data synchronization. This session provides an in-depth, hands-on, session on the application of the Package Measurement Rules in the GS1 General Specifications. Learn how to properly measure your packages per the rules. Participants are encouraged to bring packaging examples or send photos of examples they have found particularly difficult to deal with. Participants will be encouraged to engage in the hands-on measuring of these and other trade items.

Track #1: 1SYNC Fundamentals

This seminar provides two session choices: Session A: Adoption (Designed for companies who have not yet selected a Data Pool and need basic education on data synchronization) and Session B: Implementation (Designed for a current 1SYNC customer who has not yet implemented and needs an in-depth understanding of the implementation process). Both sessions will provide you with information that will enable you to effectively use data synchronization and the1SYNC Data Pool to eliminate supply chain inefficiencies. Each session includes a joint retailer panel presentation.

Session A provides an overview of the data synchronization process, the steps to ensure a successful 1SYNC implementation, and options for implementation including a presentation on the 1SYNC Solution Partner Program.

Track #1: Session A agenda

Session B includes detailed information on package measurement rules, a discussion on the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) attributes, item hierarchies and best practices for data synchronization.
